Strange Magic: Wednesdays @ 7pm CT via Zoom
Part self-illumination. Part shamanic energy work. Part dance therapy. 100% MAGIC.
Where it all began…
What began as an impromptu zoom date with a few women last January quickly turned into weekly themed journeys with unique energetically-aligned playlists.
"Strange Magic" emerged as a way to release and call in new energy to start the week...and a few of us gathered consistently in 2022, practicing, dancing, processing emotions, witnessing each other, and creating space for a supportive sisterhood community.
Then this creative project reached an inflection point.
It is clear that what we are doing is much more than ecstatic dance.
It's more like dance therapy, energetic work, and soul retrieval.
I cannot wait for you to experience it and I am so glad that you're here.
After hosting 50+ expansive Strange Magic journeys in 2022, I’m relaunching this practice.
In the coming months, we’ll be exploring, contemplating, and moving through a self-illumination journey inspired by the living wisdom of the 64 Gene Keys.
64 Strange Magic journeys
64 doors to open
64 archetypes of human consciousness
64 shadows to alchemize
64 gifts to embrace
64 portals for your expansion
“It is like coming out of an incredible body-soul-vibration workout and connecting with other soul-sisters to bask in the glory of movement and healing in action.”
We make magic every Wednesday at 7-8:30pm CT via Zoom.

The work we’re really doing here.
I have spent the majority of my career creating learning programs and experiences that teach people how to think differently, build skills, and change their habits.
More recently, fueled by my own personal journey, I have reconnected to my body, gone deep into somatic healing, and practiced kundalini and yoga nidra.
What I have discovered is that the EMBODIED methods of movement, dance, and conscious stillness present an even greater opportunity for rewiring and changing our reality.
Teaching, learning, and rationalizing from our conscious mind can only get us so far!
By working with our subconscious mind and our energetic body, we can have a far greater, lasting, transformative impact!
This is exactly the work we do through Strange Magic.
Each week, we embark on a journey centered around a theme.
We might explore an archetype, an emotion, a facet of our identity, a Hindu Goddess, a cultural concept -- the options are endless!
We "drop the performance" and the desire to look good and to be perceived a certain way. This work isn't for anyone else; it's for us.
“It feels like one giant permission slip.”
Funny thing is, though, the more we do this work for ourselves, the more it impacts the world around us. Healed people heal people!
We sink into the theme and intention of each journey, allowing our minds to get quiet and still as we move our bodies in a way that FEELS GOOD.
And we move and process energy -- unlocking doses of feel-good chemicals like dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins that leave us feeling full of peace, joy, and ecstasy.
It's no joke though -- my Whoop band consistently tells me that I burn 450+ calories in one session!
At the end of each journey, we gather together in stillness.
Sometimes we chant or sing along to the final song.
Sometimes we do have a visualization or meditation. It changes, depending on the theme.
We wrap up our sessions by "lingering" and holding the space for our sisters to share their experiences or what they're dealing with in their lives.
Strange Magic is part devoted practice, part energy work, part therapy, part community, part dance party, and part soul retrieval.
It's pure magic!

“There are some things we just can't put into words and we just don't know how to share with the world. This space is a fun and safe place to explore our internal world and express it and move it out of the body. You might show up feeling like a tangled mess but by the end that mess will appear to be beautiful and you'll understand it better.”

Prepare for Your Practice
Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your weekly practice!
CREATE S P A C E
Enter the practice with reverence by preparing yourself before we begin. This can be as simple as taking 3-5 minutes to sit in stillness and become present before you join the Zoom!
Make sure you have room to move and groove. Create the right mood for your experience with lighting. Many of us dim the lights, light candles (at a safe distance!), or use salt lamps to set the mood.
Set a boundary for having 90 minutes without interruption (we'll dance for 60-70 minutes).
PREPARE YOUR BODY
Have water nearby and make sure to rehydrate afterward -- we work up a sweat! Plan to nourish yourself afterward with a lovely meal, a luxurious bath, and plenty of liquids and rest.
EXPRESS YOURSELF
Come as you are – there is no need to look a certain way. Sweat pants, underwear, yoga clothes, a flowy dress...we've seen it all! Wear whatever you're comfortable in that makes you feel authentic and expressive -- but make sure you can MOVE in it! If you feel like dressing up, doing your makeup, or creating a character aligned with the theme, then go with that. Full self-expression is highly encouraged!
We encourage you to turn your video on so that you can be witnessed by your sisters (it's part of the energy and magic!), however, we never record sessions AND everyone is absorbed in their own practice (meaning...no one is watching you).
INTEGRATE
Have a journal if you'd like to capture anything once we're finished. Use the playlist during the following week to reconnect to your work and assist in your integration. Reach out to your sisters and/or share your experience with us!
“Breean has created a powerful and loving community of folks who are embodying truth through movement and dance. Her intuition of themes is spot on every. single. time. and the songs that are played feel like my own heart's playlist in that moment.
I have experienced many different styles of freeform dance - ecstatic, four rhythms, nia - and this has by far been the most healing, expansive, and nurturing kind of dance I've experienced, which I feel is due to her capacity to tune into what is truly needed musically for the highest good of the group.
Couldn't recommend Breean's work/play enough!”
